'Rising' with laughter

Laughter has the ability to remove a person altogether, by lifting them up. The film Mary Poppins achieved it's great popularity partly because it dramatized laughters great metaphoric, levitating power.

Excited rarified air makes people feel lightheaded - so lightheaded in fact that they feel themselves rising and floating. Only levity has the sufficient power to defy gravity.

The laughing Buddha is fat partly to show that even massive bulk can lift off the ground - with a big enough laugh. The bigger the Buddha, the louder the laugh.

That's what we always laugh off - gravity; the weight and pressure of life (seriousness), until we feel light enough to finally rise above our problems - the sky's the limit! : o)

1. Encourage yourself - be kind to yourself when you screw up. Stop being an inner critic.

2. Living in the present moment - this moment is the only moment where we can actually create anything.

3. Do something your good at everyday - reflect on your strengths, strum your guitar.

4. Notice the good things, even the tiny ones - your child's smile, a great cup of coffee or the scent of a flower.

5. Let someone know that you love them - making others happy is the main contributor to our personal happiness.

6. Release pressure in proportion to your stress - No, not on the boss or your spouse. Express yourself, even if it's in front of the mirror!

7. Enjoy yourself - kiss your beloved, dance, taste delicious chocolate - you're built for pleasure!
